Snapchat video ‘shows stabbing victim sitting with knife in back’ in Wolverhampton
A man has been stabbed in Wolverhampton as a video has surfaced on social media allegedly showing a victim sitting on a wall with a knife behind his back. A man was attacked on Gorsebrook Road in the Whitmore Reans area of Wolverhampton shortly before midnight on Saturday May 28.
A video was posted to Facebook, sourced from Snapchat, showing a man sitting on a wall with what appeared to be a knife in his back. Although it was dark, the man was illuminated by the lights of a house as he was picked up by police officers. BlackCountryLive does not share images.
At one point, the video showed him shirtless and with a handle sticking out of his back. In response to the story, a West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We are investigating after a man was stabbed in Gorsebrook Road on Saturday. The crime happened at around 11.35pm.

“Officers were immediately dispatched and provided first aid until the ambulance service arrived to take over his care. We recognize the important role that images taken over the phone play in helping to identify suspects, but victims have a legal right to anonymity.
“We ask people to consider this when making the choice to film victims and post images online. These images can re-traumatize people who have had terrible experiences and jeopardize future legal cases.
