Here are the nominees for the Video Music Awards 2022

MTV’s annual celebration of its roots, the Video Music Awards, is fast approaching. Those nostalgic for the days when the channel was dedicated to music and videos can enjoy a night of rejoicing from a generation of artists who mostly do not remember that golden age.
Here’s one, at least, for the OGs: Wwith Mrs X (nominated for Best Long Form Video), Madonna becomes the only person to be nominated in every decade since the VMAs began. This is his 69th nomination with a history of 20 victories to his credit (the most in the history of the ceremony). That’s a lot of Moon Men!
But times have really changed since Madonna started racking up names in the ’80s, and now an artist can be nominated for “Best Metaverse Performance,” which is a bit like a music video, in its own way. Ariana Grande, BTS, and Charli XCX are among those recognized for their shows within Fortnite, Minecraft, and Roblox, respectively.
Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X lead the list of nominees with seven nods apiece — the latter two mostly for their “Industry Baby” collaboration. Next come with six nominations each Harry Styles (“As It Was”) and Doja Cat (“Woman”, “Get Into It (Yuh)”). Billie Eilish is also in the rankings, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd and Taylor Swift (who returns to the VMAs with a new version of an old track, “Very good. »
The VMAs take place Sunday, August 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and can be seen on MTV as well as The CW, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand, and VH1. . See the full list of nominees below.
