Eastern and Western Rock Music Meets at Madison Square Garden

Rock fans rejoiced at Madison Square Garden in New York, USA, where rock music from the east and west met on Friday night when Chirkutt and Scorpions took turns celebrating the jubilee Bangladesh Independence Day Gold Medal.
The concert titled “Golden Jubilee Bangladesh Concert” was organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology under the leadership of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority.
The concert aimed to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and uphold the image of ‘digital Bangladesh’.
The concert kicked off with Kaderi Kibria singing the national anthem of Bangladesh in the hall, which seats up to twenty thousand people. The event attracted a large international audience as well as Bangladeshi expatriates living in the United States and other countries.
Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, Prime Minister’s Advisor for ICT Affairs Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Minister of State for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and MPs namely Shamim Osman, Aparajita Haque and Nurul Amin , among others, were present at the event.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the money raised from the concert would be spent on cybersecurity and the work would be done in collaboration with UNDP.
Chirkutt entertained the audience by singing Dhono Dhanno Pushpo Bhora, Kana Machhi, Jadur Shahar and other songs.
Also, the group sang the song O Dear Friends to honor the people and countries who supported Bangladesh during the liberation war in 1971.
Earlier, Chirkutt Sharmin singer Sultana Sumi told New Age that the band members are looking forward to performing at the concert.
“The members of Chirkutt are delighted with the concert because we will be playing in front of Scorpions. We grew up listening to their songs. We hope we can leave a lasting impression on music lovers and win their hearts at the event. I also hope Scorpions like our performance,” she said.
After the concert, she shared her experience on Facebook. She wrote: “History remade!” We just played with one of the biggest band in the world “Scorpions” at Madison Square Garden in Golden Jubilee Bangladesh concert and tried to make our country proud. People from Scorpions and Madison Square Garden who heard us said “you are soulful and awesome”.
Legendary German band Scorpions rocked Madison Square Garden singing songs from their new album Rock Believer, out February 25, 2022 and other albums including Crazy World, Animal Magnetism and more.
The band lifted the curtain on their performance singing Gas in The Tank from their latest album Rock Believer. Later they sang Make It Real from their album Animal Magnetism, Peacemaker from Rock Believer, Send Me An Angel from Crazy World, Rock You Like A Hurricane from Love at First Sting, Wind of Change from Crazy World and others.
Previously, the Concert for Bangladesh, hosted by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar, was held at Madison Square Garden on August 1, 1971. The event featured Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell and BADFINGER .
The Golden Jubilee Bangladesh concert was organized in association with Walton, with the support of United Group, bkash, daraz, citygroup and telecom, aks steel and powered by City Bank.
