Does COVID become a cold? – Love FM
The Department of Health and Wellness has confirmed one hundred and twenty-nine new cases of COVID-19. Fortunately, there are no deaths to report. Unfortunately, the number of active cases has increased to one thousand two hundred and forty-three. It’s a concern shared by many Belizeans, including Prime Minister John Briceno.
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister of Belize: “I think what’s important with COVID it seems the way it progresses turns more into a severe cold it’s not saying it’s not important to watch it but it becomes more of a severe cold and if you look at the number of hospitalizations, it hasn’t increased and for me that’s now what we need to look at hospitalizations and we don’t see hospitalizations increasing. I really think we need to look more closely at sending people home because they have COVID or maybe we need to maybe cut the time maybe cut it a few more days because a lot of people are losing their jobs to covid when we know i think it’s only the first five days you’re contagious and then after that you’re not and so we have to look at that and people have to go back at work.
The positivity rate is ten point nine percent.
