Covid-19 restrictions imposed on Pattaya Music Festival 2022

Deputy Mayor Thitiphan Petchtrakul chaired the meeting at City Hall to plan health and safety measures for the upcoming Pattaya Music Festival this month.

Thailand may be ready to declare an end to the coronavirus pandemic, but you’ll still need to be fully vaccinated, masked and pre-registered to attend the Pattaya Music Festival.

The festival, to be held every weekend in August, is a throwback to 2021, with the same strict entry requirements a year ago, even though Thailand dropped its mask mandate, vaccinated nearly 80% of the population and officially reports less than 2,000 Covid-19 cases per day.

The three stages scheduled for August 5 and 6 – Dusit Curve, Soi 6 and Central Road on Pattaya Beach – and the three future concert sites will not allow standing or dancing. Attendance will be limited and anyone trying to enter must have registered on the Thai Chana app or complete a registration form each time they re-enter the stage area.

Pattaya City will impose strict disease control rules during the entire month of Pattaya Music Festival 2022. Last year’s safety measures have proven effective in preventing large outbreaks.

Concert-goers must also present proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 and wear a mask at all times.

For those willing to accept the strict procedures, the festival gates open at 5 p.m. each day.

Traffic on Beach Road will be halted from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The festival continues on August 12 and 13 at Jomtien Beach, August 19 and 20 and August 26 on Beach Road at Central Road and August 27 at Koh Larn.
